"mobo options m78gm-s2hp for amd and d945gcnl for the intel option"

No matter which you choose, neither is very capable of gaming with the onboard video. Of the two, the AMD/Gigabyte has the better graphics. Why only these two boards?

Intel boards should be avoided due to there lack of BIOS features. Boards based on Intel chipsets are good, but boards made by Intel are generally not the best choice. And the board you picked is based on an old Intel chipset with weak graphics.

The AMD board you chose is OK, but one based on the 785G/SB710 combo would be better. And why are you considering an older Phenom rather than a Phenom II?

The 9400GT is not a gaming card.
