Solved Alter PC boot disk order within Windows not in BIOS

Specs: Windows 7
how will i be able to change the devices boot order between CD-ROM, HDD and USB drives within a windows not in bios. is there any particular utility or software which to use?

No, you can only do it from within the BIOS. The BIOS is the first thing to run when the computer turns on so it has to know which drive to boot from before any alternative software is loaded.

If you were a really expert programmer and fully understood how the BIOS works and how information is stored in the CMOS memory then is is conceivable that you could change the boot order from software but it is such a complicated process that I dont think anyone has done it, not least of all because the that actual code would have to different for each and every motherboard.

StuartS is correct, u can also use keys like F12 or F11 depending on BIOS to select the boot device without entering BIOS.

Perhaps the OP can't enter the BIOS due to an unknown password.
