I have an epson printer which works on parallel port . I have a driver for the printer ,which doesn't progresses after it asks me to choose a port type .When i select "CREATE A PARALLEL PORT " ,it says no more available LPT ports. Please select a different communication settings . I dont what happened , it worked without these glitches before.
Then i switched ON THE DEVICE MANAGER and saw yellow marks on Stadard Flopy Disk Controller ,Communication Port1, Communication Port2 and ECP Printer port (LPT1).
All these devices show error 10 (cannot start this device) except ECP Printer Port(LPT1) which shows error 12(This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. )
PLEASE GUIDE ME .
I CANT GET MY PRINTER TO WORK , AND ITS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR MY BUSINESS.

You obviosuly didn't install drivers. Why did you reinstall XP in the 1st place? What were you attempting to fix? You didn't list any info about your system so we can't help you locate the drivers. If it's an OEM system (Acer, Dell, HP/Compaq, etc), go to the manufacturer's website, find your model, then download the drivers. If you have a custom built system, the drivers will be found at the motherboard manufacturer's website.

First thanks 4 replying. And Yes , i think i installed all the drivers correct , i mean sound is OK , Intel extreme graphics is also at its right place , and everything else as good as it can be . All those drivers from the resource cd(Motherboard CD) i got from the manufacturer with my machine.

If that's really the problem , maybe i will uninstall all the drivers and reinstall them again , and will reply if it works . Thanks again.

I also went to device manager and did individual "update driver" on all the devices showing yellow mark. It failed saying it could not find a better match for the driver already installed. ...
