Alienware M17 Shuts Down After Battery Replacement

Specs: Windows 10, Intel 2.50 Ghz/8
I have a Alienware M17 laptop that I recently replaced the battery in. When running on battery power the laptop shuts down at random and will not start again until I plug in the a/c power. Might be 30 min. before it shuts down or it might be an hour. Regardless there is still plenty of charge in the battery. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Still though it sounds like a bad battery. If the old battery is working at all you might swap it back in just to see if the same problem persists. If so maybe something was damaged when replacing the battery. If not then the problem must be with the new one. Sometimes non-OEM batteries are just junk.

It could be a bad cell within the battery pack, especially if not factory battery.
It could be a thermal issue within the battery pack f they use a temp sensor within the pack.
Check internal temps in case you are having overheating issues due to dust build up or other issues, use HWMonitor to see internal temps.
Check the power setting to see how long during idle under battery it waits before going into sleep state, it could be set to too short a time.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
