Broken button?

Does it feel "normal" when you press it?

In that case:-

Try powering on while connected to electrical outlet.
Take apart laptop so you can depress the power button from within the shell.
Try a new "charger".
Try a new battery.
Replaece Motherboard.

In that order.

Good luck.

There are many possibilities. Last computer I had that did that turned out to have a faulty power supply unit.

Even better if it's a desktop.

Try and start it by shorting the switch pins.
