Add E-ide slave to SATA Master

January 17, 2010 at 17:18:07
Specs: Windows XP
I have a SATA HD and found an older HD
(Quantum Fireball) that I want to add as a slave.
It uses the older "ribbon" cable. I've tried
installing it a variety of ways but the system
either tries to boot off of the old drive, or it does
not recognize it all.....any thoughts?

Thanks for responding, yes the drive is good. The first time I installed it, the machine booted off of it..it's Windows Me... The machine either tries to boot off it the drive, or it won't recognize it at all......

Change the boot order in the BIOS.
