Acer netbook running slower after RAM ugrade

Acer / Ao533
January 19, 2011 at 09:17:49
Specs: Windows 7 starter, 1.666 GHz / 2037 MB
I upgraded my acer's 1GB pc3-10600 stick to a 2GB stick of pc3-8500. I know that I lost some speed, but I figured that the additional ram would make up the difference. My computer is now running way slower. I think it may be the difference in the ram speed, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed up my computer? Thanks a lot.

go to crucial.com and find out exactly which and how much ram you can use.
Remove all startup items except what you need, AV, etc

Crucial is where I went to to find out what kind of RAM to get. After a little bit of research, I learned that for some reason, you can not use PC3-10600 when you use 2GB either. As far as start up goes, I have minimal programs that are in the start up process. So, Im at a loss as to what to do. The netbook is less than a month old.

at least it's under warranty, if you can't figure out the problem, get them to replace it...it could be a hardware issue
