Specs: Linux
First it happened when I connected to emachine T3104, so I connected to my laptop computer and the monitor was working fine except that it display every thing else except video. But my laptop was an old model so I thougt it might not have been compatable. Now I just bought a new HP:h8-1110 and when I connected everything turned on the computer and the screen, the screen first showed the logo withe blue power light on then it showed the'no signal' and the power light turned orange. The monitor is an acer lcd model: X223W. Can someone help me? Do I need to buy a new monitor or is it fixable?

You need to properly configure the screen resolution setting.

1680 x 1050 @ 60Hz

Hi,

Could it be that that the bios settings are set as DVi and your using VGA or Visa versa?

If your using a DVi cable, then remove that and use a VGA cable, or if your using a VGA cable remove that and use a DVi cable and see what happens.

Hope this helps.

On some computers you have to turn on the external monitor output.
