Acer Aspire One ZG5

Specs: Windows XP
I just bought an acer zg5 for my nephew it has very little memory & he can't load games on to it. I bought a 160 gig hard drive on ebay that said it came out of an acer zg5 but it seems really big. I have taken the computer apart and don't see where it goes. I thought it would go in the small compartment with 2 screws in the back and have since taken it completely apart board & all. What should I do?

Posted a response and then removed it thinking I was crazy. However, it turns out that Acer is making TWO versions of the ag5.

One is traditional, more or less, the other has an 8GB solid state HD. Look at the link below to see if this is what you bought.

According to the specs I read, it already has a 120 to 160 gig hard drive in it. The article also says it has 1 gig of ram and no cd or dvd tray. Laptops use a 2.5" hard drive, so it sounds like you bought a 3.5" instead. I hope you can return it if that's the case. Laptops are not good for gaming, they rely on the onboard graphics chip on the mobo. To play today's games you need an addon graphics card. If it is brand new, you voided the warranty by taking it apart. It's up to you as to what you want to do with it after you put it back together. Good Luck.
