See first answer from Eddie here:

Be aware that you will lose all your own data including emails, so first backup whatever you can.

The alternative is for us to look at the problems you are having, which might well be malware related.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

A factory reset will most likely cause you to lose everything, are you prepared for that? Have you backed up your personal files (photos, music, word docs, etc)? Do you have copies of the software to reinstall again after the reset?

Before going to the extreme of the reset, I suggest you try doing a cleanup. Download & install CCleaner-Slim from the link below. Run the Cleaner & the registry scanner & remove everything they find. Then click on Tools > Startup & review all the entries on the startup list. Disable anything you don't want loading at startup, then reboot.

I have no idea what you have on your list but what usually happens is the user installs software & rapidly clicks next-next-next without reading what's on the screen. The result is a startup entry is loaded/stored & it reloads each time the computer is started.

Some of the common things are: Adobe, AOL Messenger, Google, iTunes, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, printers, cameras, scanners, etc, etc. Some Adware/Malware programs get added to the list too.
