acer aspire 5920 laptop, replacing keyboard

Acer Aspire 5920-6582 notebook

Specs: Vista, 1.86GHZ 2gig RAM
replacing keyboard but cant get ribbon to stay secure within its holder, not sure if I have little black clip in the right way but it does seem to click in ok, ribbon can just keeps slipping out.

... click pic1... pic2 as you can see the plastic black section (in these pics) has to be pushed out to release the ribbon connector then pushed back-in to hold it secure!

... have you slipped it in the correct slot?

pic 3 looks similar to my connection, yes the black piece that is surposed to secure ribbon clicks back in but the ribbon can just slips out.

and yes the ribbon has only one spot to go as far as I can see.

... one can easily misjudge the narrow slot I tend to use tweezers and a strong light.

... of course one has to push the "lock" back home after slipping it in!

thanks for getting back to me. No, I had it in the right position, but it was the pathetic littleblack clip that gave me the trouble, finally realised how it slipped on and now the ribbon is firm. No help from Acer either.
