Accidentially pulled power cord PC wont start

Specs: Windows XP
my pc wont start. I was downloading a printer driver. before it ended. it prompts me to connect printer. when i pulled the printer cable. The Power cord was accidentally disconnected from my PC and shuts off immeadiately. When i plug again the computer and hit the start button. I can hear the compter running but nothing comes out of the screen? I reboot many times. but same thing happen..

When you say you can 'hear the computer running' do you mean you hear the fans and drives spinning or do you mean you hear the windows sounds? If you hear the windows sounds then you have a problem with the monitor--maybe the connection--or the video controller or card.

If you just hear fans and drives then something must have been damaged when the cable disconnected. That could be the power supply, motherboard or both.

If you were pulling cables, etc. check your monitor's cables, either the power or signal cables may be partially pulled out and not making contact. Check them first.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
