About selecting a display/monitor, 4K or 2K

Hi all,

I'm prepared to upgrade my 24" Samsung monitor/display, 1920x1080, which has been running several years. I shall use the display for daily office work, no gaming nor graphic editing. My option is 27" display but wonder whether go 4K or 2K. For color I prefer 4K but the fonts will be too small to read documents and web browsing. I have no pre-set budget.

Please give me some advice for its selection. Thanks in advance.

You will very likely have to upgrade your graphics card to get 4K support.

"the fonts will be too small to read documents and web browsing"

You realize you can adjust that, right? I have a 25" monitor & run Firefox at 120% using an add-on called Default Zoom Level. IE11 is set at 125% (turn on the status bar & the zoom level adjustment is in the lower right corner). I believe I have my HTPC which is connected to a 47" HDTV setup the same way.

Motherboard - ASUSTeK M5A97 LE R2.0, Version: Rev 1.xx
RAM - 32G
Hard drive - 1TB SSD

"You realize you can adjust that, right?"
Yes. I have seen the comparison btw 4K and 2K monitors in a computer shop. In my opinion for reading documents and web browsing 2K monitor looks better.

Also I have made some search on IPS and TN panels. It doesn't look much difference. Any suggestion or comment?

My favourite brand/maker is Samsung

Thanks
