Specs: Windows 7
A DVD or CD recorded in windows 7 is not readable in Windows They were before, but no longer. No major changes to systems, just automatic updates. I have Windows Xp Professional Service Pack 3 on one computer and Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1 on the other.

Did you format the disk in Windows 7 "Like a USB Flash Drive"? I've had problems reading disks in Windows XP setup like that.

You've been helped by a 14 year old.

No, I had not finalized the disc, since I had never done so before and it had always been readable in my Xp machine before this problem started. Once I got your sugggestion, I tried finalizing the original DVD-R and it failed to make any difference, so I scrapped it and tried again with a fresh disc. With the new one, once I finalize the disc, it is readable. I've done it twice, and so far, so good.
