I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that's 4 years old. Lately it has been going into freeze mode after sitting idle for a while (anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours). I can click on start and it will bring up options but that is as far as it will go. SOMETIMES it will go into shutdown mode when opted, but then usually stalls with a message that reads "(waiting for) explorer.exe to close". Other times all I get is the "spinning tire". I usually have to force shut down and restart to achieve normal usage. Any ideas????

✔ Best Answer
Go to Control Panel> Power Options. Choose My custom plan 1. Set the USB to Never suspend. If that doesn't stop the issue then do the same for the hard drive. Be sure to save when exiting if asked.
