30 out of 54gb on hard drive unaccounted for

September 12, 2010 at 08:00:32
Specs: Windows XP, 2 GHz Sempron, 1Gb RAM
I right-click on c: and properties says 45Gb out of 52Gb is used. When I "select all" under c: and right click on properties, there are about 14gb of files. I am missing about 30Gb.

Do you have "show all hidden files & folders" enabled? Do you have "hide protected system operating files" disabled?

Yes. I am showing all hidden files and disabled "hide protected OS files". I also ran a checkdisk with no errors and tried to defrag although I could only get to 12% free and it says it needs 15%. I already moved a few gig to an external drive. I can't seem to move anything else without getting errors.
