Specs: Windows Vista
3 years now , i bought a brand new Samsung HDD - HD501LJ , its 500 GB , im kinda regret it.

The day it reached me (first use) , i did a Format but it stopped at 70% i dont remember exactly and i wasnt able or free to run behind its warranty , its kind of unbelievable story but its true .

Now i returned to use it , it still like new. Some partitions on it doesnt work ( makes it click ) and data transfer doesnt work on them , its general sound is so soft ( unlike the sounds i heard over the internet provided by other users ) , and i retried to manage it again by making alot of partitions to SIEGE the infected areas , now some of them makes it click , some do not .

I tried alot of sites and read alot of topics , but they all seem to be different , 1st - the clicking sound is like ( tick ... tock every 5 seconds of using(staying) at that damaged partition ) and its gone leaving it , 2nd - its has ben long time here and still didnt die , 3rd - its not the board as my experience tells me .

Actually im not looking to recover data , but im looking for how to fix it if possible since warranty doesnt work now , and its in a half working order.

Is there any software or something can help at least specify a full working area so i stick using it , or shall i open it and strike it as many ppl says ?

Any help will be appreciated

Ticking usually means mechanical damage. You should have replaced the drive while you had the chance. I wouldn't risk putting anything important on it, in fact, it would be better used as a paperweight or door stop.

It was bricked 3 years ago when you bought it new but were unable to claim warranty. Time does not heal failed hardware. You can probably buy a new drive today with bigger capacity @ 1/2 the price.
