|Power down the computer and remove ac plug. Press power button a few times. Open case. Use esd strap to remove and reseat both sides of the hard drive data connector.|
Return to service and see bios first to see if it reads correctly..
If not then might have to start swapping stuff. Either move drive to other system or swap data cable or check voltages at drive.
For the most part bios should see the drive correctly but oddly enough for newer OS's it isn't really needed. Can also try a live linux cd just to see if it shows correctly.
