Specs: Windows8.1 Pro with Media Centre x64, 2.793 GHz / 4096 MB
Hi

I seem to be having a bad luck with drives. Well now my Flash Drive (16 GB SanDisk) has suddenly stopped working on the computer. Whenever I connect it the computer starts to freeze and when I open My Computer it takes a few seconds to load and shows the flash drive as removable storage with no drive letter assigned and no memory information. I cannot access the Disk Management while drive is connected.

The funny thing is that the drive is working just fine on my HD TV. The TV is able to play all movies on the drive and open the documents and show pictures.

SO why isnt my drive working on my PC?

Need your help in getting the drive to run. I Don't have any data on the drive thats important but I dont want it to go to waste. Its only a year old at most.

It's as if your computer has developed an aversion to that particular flash drive? Probably the only thing to do is replace it with one that's a different size or from a different manufacturer.

Buy another pen drive so you can use one just on your TV, and the new one only on your PC. Brilliant idea don't you think?

Did it previously work OK on both? I'm wondering if the TV configured it in a non-standard way that windows doesn't understand.

That's odd. If you can reformat it you could see if that helps. Otherwise I'd just buy a new one or one for each as phil22 suggests.

Maybe it's the computer that's at fault. Do other flash drives of similar capacity work on that computer?

well I have given up on that. I really dont care about the drive as much as the issue was bothering me. Your right that the computer has developed an aversion to that particular drive. I have another one of the same model and size and it works. well i gave the flash drive to a friend. he was going to buy one and since this was of no use to me anymore because it wouldnt run on my pc and i couldnt edit the data on it. my friend is using it and its working great on his system.
