1-½ year old Toshiba DVD video recorder keeps shutting down

August 18, 2013 at 05:09:57
Specs: Windows 7
I have a Toshiba dvd video recorder DR20KB, that keeps shutting itself down. At first it played about half of a pre-recorded disc then shut down, I initially thought it was the fuse, but then the time for it to shut down reduced to about one minute. If I unplug the machine, then plug it back in it will power up but knocks off again within a couple of minutes. The machine was bought new in February of last year [2012] so I don't believe it's down to age.
Any help appreciated, thanks
Glen

I would suspect that it is a failing power supply. I'm afraid that you are going to have to take it to a repair shop and ask for an estimate to get it repaired. But it may cost more than the unit is worth.

Thanks ijack, I must admit I suspected as much, I'll try a repair shop because they are getting on for £200.00 to buy new.
Thanks again
