It depends on the video card. A powerful video card isn't required to run a website or make backups. If it has PCI-E slots you could put in a decent card. Just the integrated graphics would not be suitable for gaming.

You're not going to be able to play games like GTA 4 on that server. The processor and RAM probably are good, but none of the cards you mentioned are strong enough. Unless if you buy a decent card, you aren't going to be able to play intensive games on it. If you can't buy another, the GeForce FX5200 is your best bet.

I'm not sure I understand your question because of the lack of information. You should make sure to get a list of the systems specs and post them, so that it may be much easier to provide you the information you need.

From the information you've given I can only guess... I'm guessing that it's a Dell with an AMD Phenom X3 8650 (which has 3 cores NOT 8) with "a lot of ram" which seems suspicious from the person selling you a 8650 Phenom with 8 cores when it only has 3 with 2.30 GHz frequenzy. It maybe that the person you are buying it from is overating it.

To answer your question especifically: No; this machine would not be good for gaming.

In order to have a mid range gaming rig, which would be not so much good but okay in my opinion, it would need to have a 4 core CPU, with at least 4 GB RAM and most importantly a mid range video card (depending on monitor resolution), like a nvidia GTS 450 or ati equivalent.

Hope this helped... "/

There is no Dell 8650. Do you mean a Dell Poweredge 6850? or possibly an 8450? The 6850 would have 4 dual core CPUs. It has PCI-X & PCI-E slots, but the fastest PCI-E slot is only x8.

Or if it's the 8450, it would have 8 single core CPUs & only standard PCI slots:
