what kind of video card do i need for my comp

March 6, 2011 at 12:40:53
Specs: Windows Vista
I have a Compaq Presario SR2170NX. I have a "Graphics by ATI Radeon Xpress 200" sticker on it. I want to run World of Warcraft in better than "low" graphic setting. What do I need, and how high can I go without upgrading the power supply?

I have a 300W power supply. Maximum HP/Compaq approved memory is 2 GB. memory amount: 1 GB. Speed: PC2-4200 MB/sec.

Thanks!

The Radeon Xpress 200 is an integrated graphics chip, not a card. Your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot, so all you need to do is decide on how much you're willing to spend & choose a card that will work with a 300W power supply.

If you don't mind playing the rebate game, here's a decent low power gaming card for just $33:

Here's another possibility, plus there are plenty more:

You should also add more RAM.
