i need to upgrade my graphic card in my netvista i need to know whats the best one you get
Do you want us to guess which NetVista you have?
oh sorry its a netvista 8305-42u
Are you sure you want to "waste" your money upgrading such an old system? To turn that system into a gamer, you'll need to max the RAM amount at 2GB, upgrade the power supply, & add an AGP gaming video card. Here's the specs: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s...
You can't beat this deal for Radeon X1950 at TigerDirect for just $22. You won't find a better AGP card for the money but you'll defintely need a new power supply to be able to run it.
any good suggestions for a power supply for the ibm netvista 8305 42u i have a 300w in now maxs out at 405w but was wondering if i could get a 500w in it
try a 4650 agp Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 @ 2.00 GHz
2 GB DDR2 DAM
XFX Radeon HD 4650
250 GB HDD
"try a 4650 agp" I totally disagree. The Radeon HD series (which was designed for PCI-express) did not translate over to the AGP format very well. There were all shorts of drivers issues & patches were released in an attempt to overcome them. Besides, the X1950 Pro is as fast or faster than the HD 4650.
The card at TigerD sold out quickly. At $22 it was a phenomonal deal. They originally sold for about $250. Hopefully you cashed in on it while you had the chance. If I was still running AGP, I wouldn't have thought twice about ordering one.
