Trying to remember a game from the 90s?

Specs: Windows 7
Hi there,

I am looking for a game I used to play in the 90s. It involved 4 worlds, Asian, Greek, Egyptian and Indian. you were an explorer and you had to collect goods and solve puzzles whilst avoiding spiders and other creatures. If you didn't get the puzzle, you couldn't proceed. I'm pretty sure I played this around the same era as Lemmings. It was a Pc Game, and i remember spending hours playing it. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, does anyone recognize my description?

Sounds like an 'Age of Empires' type PC Game, what else can you remember about it?

It was a long time ago...but the word empires sounds familiar. I remember you were this character and you had to avoid creatures in these different worlds but you had swtiches to flick which would trigger trap doors or changes in the scene, as well as unscramble puzzles and once you finished the first level you went to the next. You had to complete all four worlds....it was a one player game. Isn't age of empires an interactive game online? tha k yoiu for replying does this ring a bell......i'm ginna check your suggestion

I believe 'Age of Empires' is single player however it may have multiplayer, although I am not sure as I don't play games online. I was using 'Age of Empires' as an example though, but the game that you are describing certainly sounds like that type.

Interesting, 'Ancient Empires' apparently was released in 1990 by 'The Learning Company', glad you found it.
