The sims 2 saved neighborhoods/lots reset

January 16, 2016 at 00:12:33
Specs: windows 7, 4gb
I have a friend that likes to play the sims 2. She had every expansion except Sims 2 Pets. I had this one so I told her I would throw it on there for her.

I backed up her EA/Sims 2 save folder in her Documents. I installed Sims 2 Pets. I started the game to test if the Pets expansion was working, which it was. I quit the game and deleted the newly generated save folder, replaced it with her original save folder.

Now when you start the game everyone of the neighborhoods has been reset to factory default. None of her saved lots and families exist.

What happened? What did I not do? What can I do? Please help?

The game detected that you were installing an expansion pack that's already been used on another computer (yours).

Your friend should have bought their own expansion pack that hasn't been used already.

Nothing you can do. It's your fault for trying to share your expansion pack with someone else instead of paying for another one.

That was a hilarious answer LOL can I get some real help now?

I have used this same process in the past without issue on several of my own computers. I don't use the game anymore... when were we not allowed to lend out a game or sell it when we are done with it? I own Sims 4 now what would I need with the Sims 2?

P.S. She used 4 other Expansions I was not using anymore with no issues to her save folder...
