steam mic problem

Specs: Windows Vista, 3 GHz / 2037 MB
I am using steam for which i have a normal mic that plugs into audio socket and usb mic headset. My OS is Win 64bit. It sees the mic and can use it. So does steam detect it and Ive tested it. Ive installed drivers used the ones with windows tried another Win comp even push to talk and automatically transmit but i cant speak in any of my steam games. Like zombie master, tf2 or cs: source.

make sure steam community is enabled in game. also when u log in to ur account go to settings then voice make sure voip is enabled and push to talk also post back

Yes steam community is enabled in game. I don't see anything there for voip.

go to steam then settings in the new window go to voice tab there is an option for transmit my voice automatically when i speak or use push to talk choose whats best for u also check for any steam updates my steamclient was updated 2 days ago check urs

Its up-to-date ive even set my Logitech usb headset to default device and communication device. Still nothing will try on different OS.
