StarCraft2 GeForce 9500 GT with AMD Athlon X3

September 15, 2010 at 21:51:54
Specs: Windows 7
I'm currently running on a GeForce 9200 GT with AMD Athlon X3, 4G DDR3. Will the upgrade to a 9500 GT make a noticable difference in StarCraft 2, and if so, what settings do you think I will be able to run it very smoothly on? I have a 1900x1080 monitor, but I can lower the res in-game and it doesn't bother me too much.

If there is any other info you guys need to know to answer the question, please ask.

Thanks.

9500gt is weak and it's not a gaming card. Buy 9800gt 1gb (it require additional power from psu but it uses low power, even 400w +12v@10A can run the card but i recommend atleast 400w +12v@15-20A)

What's a 9200 GT? Is that an IGP?

As kuwese said, the 9500GT is NOT a good gaming card. How much are you willing to spend? If you don't mind rebates, here's a few possibilities:

Geforce 9600 GSO for $35

Radeon HD 4670 for $40

Radeon HD 5550 for $45

Geforce GT 240 for $50
