sims 2 problems

Specs: Windows 7
hello i installed sims 2 onto my laptop which
went fine but now when i got o play the game
it tells me i need the direct9 graphics card.

my computer is running windows 7 its has a
512mb ati radeon graphics card.
i have tried installing what i thought to be the
directx 9 but it still doesnt work

"I have 512mb radeon graphic card" what it's name? By default win 7 installs dx11 but older games and some new games like braid require direct x9, go to microsoft site and download direct x 9c.

Depending on the age of your laptop, the integrated graphics may not support DX9, regardless of whether DX9 is actually installed or not. Is your laptop a new one that came with Win7 pre-installed? Or is it an older one that you (or someone else) installed Win7 on?

we have only recently bought this computer in the last few weeks
its had win 7 on it when we bought it.

how do i tell the name of the graphics card all says is that it is it
an ati radeon

i found it
ati radeon mobility hd 4500 series
