screen freezes and computer dies

Acer / Extensa 5630
March 26, 2010 at 16:34:50
Specs: Windows 7
When running some games on my acer extensa 5630, the screen will freeze and the computer goes into unexpected shutdown. I bought the computer about a month ago. It is not the graphics because they are alright. It is not overheating. A friend said it might be the timing but i dont know what that is. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few secs and then returns.
It even happens to games that are 10 years old. Can you plese help me?

It is not the graphics because they are alright"

Oh really? Your laptop uses the Intel GMA 4500MHD which is not very good for gaming. Stick to old games, that's all it's capable of playing at decent frame rates. But even games such as Doom 3 which is 6 yrs old probably won't play well, if at all. You have to pick & choose your games wisely.

"It is not overheating"

Again - oh really? Post the CPU temp & we'll tell you if it's running too hot or not.

"A friend said it might be the timing"

Your friend is clueless, don't take anymore advice from him.
