Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 will not run right

June 23, 2011 at 17:24:25
Specs: Windows XP
After I installed Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, on my Windows XP Home, I clicked on the icon to start the game. A window then comes up that says, "The graphics hardware or drivers do not meat the minimum requirements to run RCT3" What should I do?

Unfortunately, it looks as though you'll have to upgrade your video card to run Roller Coaster Tycoon 3? What is the make and model of your computer? Do you know your system specs?

Install CPU-Z. Open CPU-Z after installation.
On the Mainboard Tab what, does it say for the Manufacturer and Model?
On the Memory Tab, what does it say for Size?
On the Graphics Tab, what does it say for GPU Name and Memory Size?

I don't know most of the specs, but on the top of the laptop, a sticker has E-Pro printed on it.

The Mainboard tab says the manufacturer is American Megatrends Inc. and the model is 340S8. On the memory tab, it says the memory is 248 MB. And on the graphics tab, it says the the UPU name is SiS 630/730, and the memory size is 8MB.

Unfortunately, your laptop is not capable of running Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. You can try installing Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 or maybe Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.

so you have 256mb of RAM installed to your laptop, however, you do not have a dedicated graphics card. So the computer taked 8mb from the RAM (leaving 248) and allocates it to the graphics for basic running.

It does unfortunately mean that the laptop won't be able to run the game properly... your best bet is to buy a new laptop just to buy that game, or go without.

Sorry :(
