Problem with The Sims 2

Specs: Windows XP
Hello people, I would apprecite any help you could lend me about this problem I am getting while trying to run The Sims 2.

Whenever I try to run the game, I get the following error message:

"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I have made a research on some topics about that issue, and found out this is caused by video cards that are incompatible with Directx 9. HOWEVER, thats not my case - I have a Geforce FX5200, wich is pointed to be compatible with directx 9. So, whats wrong?
My specs: Windows XP with SP2, Celeron 2,26ghz, 1,5GB ram (yeah, I use 2 cards of different capacities...), Video Geforce FX5200 with 128mb, onboard sound card. (Yes, I have latest drivers, just checked it in Nvidia site; and YES, I have DirectX 9.0c installed.)

Grateful, Yashima

Do you have a motherboard with integrated graphics but you updated to the FX5200?

Make sure your game has the latest patch.

Thanks for answering. My motherboard is an Asus X series P4S800-MX SE (donĀ“t know if this actually means something...). And I do have the latest patches.

Thanks, Yashima

Ok, I assume there is no fix for that problem and i am considering this to be a Windows bug. Will try Linux now.

Thanks, Yashima
