Window vista won't install X-plane easily like XP pro. Why? I find it doesn't communicate with the CD drive easily when main disc 1 is inserted to run and fly the prg. It won't load some scenery and generally doesn't like any upgrades from 9.2 to 9.7. That just mucks everything up and I get messages like: udp socket failed to initialize. I even downloaded the demo version of 9.7 to have a second prg installed but it has given the same trouble. It is installed to the root directory via the desktop or straight on C drive. The desktop one gives more trouble generally. It won't use the full screen either as with the one with XP pro.

How much RAM do you have? X Plane 9 needs at least 2GB on Vista.
