Other people might disagree but you can game some modern games on that just at low settings, Upgrade your RAM to atleast 4GB, how did your laptop come with 2GB stock anyway, these days 3-4GB is the standard in low-mid-range laptops.

I am a hardware guy not a software guy but i try to help.

I wouldn't even call that a gaming laptop. You can pretty much play any game, for the hardcore games, you'll have to play it on low setting. Using an older OS like WinXP also help boost up your gaming experience. What your avg CPU % for (reg Internet browsing). I recomm...upgrading your RAM (4+GB).

Well, i have a similar CPU (I3-2310M, clocked 100MHz slower), mine is around 0-5%, around 10% with more than 5 tabs open.

"And it can run things easily made before 2010."

Are you serious? Ok let me list some games that came out before 2010 that will never run on that computer:

Far Cry 2, Crysis WARHEAD, BioShock, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto IV, Dead Space, Dirt 2, GRID, Fallout 3, Burnout Paradise, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, etc.

Here are some good titles (but old) that will run on that computer:

Half-Life 1 & 2, Halo 1 & 2, Call of Duty 1 & 2, GTA: 3, Vice City & San Andreas, Freedom Fighters, Max Payne 1 & 2, Medal Of Honor Allied Assault, Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia Series (The Sands of Time, Warrior Within & The Two Thrones), Need for Speed Most Wanted, Carbon & Undercover.

Actually Assassin's creed does run, mass effect runs fine on max settings and even ME3, so actually it can run most games, you won't know that because you don't have the HD 3000 to test it.

Have you ever tested the HD3000 or are you judging by the manufacturer?

Running a game on a computer doesn't mean that you'll be able to run it well, let alone enjoy it. I remember when I first played Half-Life 2 it was on a P4 laptop, with 192 MB of RAM + 64MB shared (of a Radeon 7500M intergrated graphics) and believe you me it was not an enjoyable experience.

The OP needs to know that if he/she wants to play games on a computer he/she's gotta invest on cheap gaming desktop, or else stick with (old but very good) titles that I've listed.
