PC reboots itself while playing games

Specs: Windows 7, 16GB
Hi, so I was playing PWI an MMORPG and every time I try to load the game it would reboot itself and display an error screen telling me it was due to a power surge. So I switched off the power surge detection feature off and it would not stop either. When the game client is minimized, it doesn't crash but once it is maximized it does. Once I opened the game client, minimized it and opened the task manager and went on processes and maximized the game screen and I was able to see that the CPU usage was at 98%

My Graphics card is a Nvidia GTX 970
850w PSU
16 GB ram
Windows 7 operating system

I would appreciate any support

Are you using the latest Graphics card drivers?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

850Watt power supply tells us little. Please post the make and model number. There are cheap power supplies that are not really what they are rated when used in the real world. Giving us the details will allow us to see how likely you are running into power supply issues.

As above, make sure that you have the latest driver for your graphics card, get the driver only from NVidia web site directly for your card and version of Windows.

Install HWMonitor and run it at idle for a while and then with the game launching, see if you can pick up anything really unusual like deep voltage drops, severe temperature rises, etc. one you launch the game. Report results.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
