If it is a PCIe Card it will physically fit, unfortunately the Dell Power Supplies are very poor and may need to be replaced with a good quality unit.

The 8800GT is 5 years old and well past its prime:


It may be best to check out this page for the best graphics card for price:


Last but not least you should have installed XP Service Pack 3 as it was released THREE years ago and there have been many updates since that time..

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

Joli the Dell PSU are not that bad, i have 350w unit pulled out from dell system 4 years ago(made by lenovo) and it run the system with 9600gt well. 300w dell unit is actual a 350w unit.
