Theres this one game I loved to play, but I
can't anymore due to my monitor not
supporting lower resolutions. I tried figuring out
what it's lowest resolution was and it told me
1280 x 720. I need it to support at least 1024 x
768 to run this game. The game will not start
up without the resolution being supported...
Incase you need to know what game, it's
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I used to play
the game on 1920x1080p, but it stopped
supporting that lower resolution out of
nowhere. Whenever I try to start it up it tells
me "Cannot find 800x600x32" and to anyone
who tells me to try and delete the configuration
file, I've tried that already. Didn't work. I tried
troubleshooting the game in windows XP(SP3)
and I won't get the error, it just acts as it's
loading up, and task manager says it's still
processing. What confuses me is that I read that all LCD Monitors are supposed to support ALL resolutions. Please anyone. Help, I'd like to
play this game once more.

"all lcd monitors are supposed to support all resolution" no that not true.
Right click gta san andreas icon then properties, click compatibility tab then tick "run in 640x480 screen resolution"

edit: 4:3 & 16:9 are supported by gta san andreas, try to find "wide screen resolution fix" may be it will fix the problem.

Are those lower resolutions supported when you're not running the game? (Try lowering desktop resolution in control panel).
And is it the only game you have with that problem? You can try running other games and see if they also have that problem or not.
Also you can try installing the drivers for your monitor and see if it helps.

I'm pretty sure it's just this game. It's the oldest game on my
computer. Everything else is from Team Fortress 2 and Garry's
mod and up. Lowering the resolution on my desktop is limited to
1280x720. I need at least 1024x768, but it isn't supported.
Without that resolution the game WILL NOT start up. And my
Drivers for my monitor are up to date(So says Windows 7)

Its not the screen resolution problem - my computer supports 1024px768p but the game still doesn't work. I need some help too. You should buy a new monitor or a new video card.
