Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 1.349 GHz / 255 MB
Every time i double click on the game icon to initialize it, the screen would go black and i would have to restart my computer. some games would show a window saying "we have encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience". but when i play the computer games like solitaire, or games like nintendo ds emulator it would run properly... my friend said it could be the files corrupted, but i dont know which file... please help as i would really want to play games on my com again....

I would surmise you PC is not up to the task, it must be pretty old, and 256mb Memory is barely enough to run Windows 2000 let alone Windows XP.

Download HWINFO32 and post the full specs of motherboard, graphics, CPU....

Before that your pc could play games but not now. New games require more computing power. I used to play GTAII and NFS III on a P3 500Mhz with 90MB RAM and 32MB Graphics but now I cannot do anything on that system. I can even not run a proper media player on that and its just sitting in the closet. Now to play GTAIV and NFS SHIFT I use my new system.

First off, I would run checkdisk, memtest86, clean out spyware etc
