Specs: Windows 7
MY computer will be fine if I leave it on and use the internet but if I ever want to play a game (exe. Skyrim), it will shut off completely after a few minutes randomly. What can I do about it?

Hi MaiyaDanny,

Is it a laptop or a desktop?

It seems to be an overheating issue. Please ensure that the system fan are working properly.

Check the vents on the computer to see if they are covered with dust and not allowing heat and air to pass

Also, you can use compressed air to clean the vents and other components of the system.

It's a laptop. It seems to shut off less when I keep it on flat surfaces or when I move it so the air vents can have more access.

Hi MaiyaDanny,

Thank you for the reply.

As you mentioned that the laptop turns off less when you use it on a flat surface, it can be an overheating issue.

I would suggest you to use a cooling pad which may help you with this issue.

Also, update the BIOS of the system from the manufacturers website. If it is a Dell laptop, let me know the system model.
