Mouse problems in games.

Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i5 CPU 2Ghz / 4GB
In PC games I move the mouse a little bit and stop, but the cursor keeps moving. I've tried using wireless and wired mice. All of them I have tried are optical. I'm using a mouse pad. What going on? [EDIT: My CPU specs are Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz(4 CPUs), 4GB]

It could be the type of mouse mat you're using, especially if it has a shiny surface or a picture on it. Optical mice can't track properly on some types of surfaces. I use my optical mouse directly on my desk top which has a woodgrain effect. The mouse tracks properly with no issues at all on that.

It also works fine on a uniform matte black or gray, fabric mouse mat, but not on mouse mats which have a shiny picture on them.

Suggest you remove the mouse mat and try using the mouse without a mat at all.

My mouse pad is Black, and I have tried it without the pad. It didn't work. I think it might be a setting or the type of mouse.
