Low Budget Gaming Computer, Help?

Specs: Windows 7
Hey All!

Basically I have around £500 ($750) to spend on a Desktop, But I am essentially a complete noob to the hardware side of things. I've been told that building a PC is the best option but as I have never had any previous experience I'd end up building a pretty average PC for an over the top price

I'm Looking to use this PC to record games such as BF3 but as things stand, My current computer would take hours to render to only give me horrible quality and laggy videos (I have done all I can to the render setttings etc) I am in need of an upgrade.

Essentially I am looking for a PC that will do the following to the highest possible standard, within budget:

Play demanding games
Record games with no lag issues etc
Good quality renders within a reasonable time

I've been looking to invest in a new PC for ages, but without any knowledge I have been spooked from purchasing in case I come out with a High end Gaming case..

Thanks for reading this and any feedback would be much appreciated!

"Record games with no lag issues"
In some games half of FPS is dropped when start recording.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.
