Specs: Windows 7
I've got a Packard Bell ixtreme M3720, with it's completely rubbish onboard graphics. Can't play the games i want. So i've bought a Nvidia 9800GT.. and tried to install it. No go... just wondering what i'm doing wrong? Do i need extra cables? Am i even in the right slot? Can't find any info on what type of slots my computer has.
Feeling like dumb girl! Please help?!

Did you do your homework ahead of time? The 9800GT is a bit of a power hungry card so you need to have a decent power supply with adequate wattage/amperage. The general requirement is at least 400W with a minimum of 26A on the +12v rail. Plus you need to connect a 6-pin PCIe plug to the rear of the card or it won't work. There's probably only one slot the card will fit in so that shouldn't be an issue, but you'll need to enter the BIOS & disable the onboard video, return the shared memory back to the system, & change the initial display from the onboard video to the PCIe card.

Thanks for the help, i've got to go get a 6 pin adaptor, as i can't find one attached to my PSU. I thought that was the problem but wasn't sure, you've cleared that up for me.
