Solutions for Missing Sounds Problem on Vista
Many players have been experiencing sound issues with Battlefield Vietnam on Vista. Almost all radio voices missing, no vehicle music, etc... Here are the solutions I've found out;

1st
If you run the exe file in the "Windows 98 / Windows Me" compatibility mode (not XP mode) all the sounds will be back but when you attempt to play the game online on PunkBuster servers you get kicked with the message "Service Abnormality". So you can use this for playing on single player or non-PunkBuster servers. By the way, if you are using Creative Alchemy software which enables EAX effects on Vista, this solution won't work.

2nd
A friend tried that. If you run the exe file in the "Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)" compatibility mode all the sounds will be fine and you won't get kicked from the PunkBuster servers either. But there is a possibility for the game to not recognize your disc in this mode. As long as you have the original game it shouldn't be a problem to find a no-cd patch to fix this

Let us know if any of this helps out.
