Hi guys. I still use Win Xp(old dated though!). I love playing halo. So i wanted to play halo 2. But you all know that windows made halo 2 exclusively for win vista which is in fact a crap. For some reason i cannot upgrade to 7. I read on some forum that with the help of xp patch(some loader.bat and bunch of dll files) halo 2 can be played on xp. But the problem is i failed to acquire the xp patch. All previous download locations are now dead. So if anyone of you have working halo 2 xp patch please share with me. The patch contains dll files like dwmapi.dll, MFPlat.dll, mf.dll & xinput9_1_0.dll, in addition two bat files. Thanks in advance.

Is this your motherboard/CPU combo?

Definitely not a good base for a gaming system. And 2GB really isn't enough to run Win7 decently. Unfortunately the PCI-e slot on that board is an x8 rather than x16 but even so, any gaming graphics card you install would be better than the weak Intel HD graphics. If you want to be able to play games, you'll need at least 4GB RAM, a video card, & a more modern version of Windows. No sense in going too wild with a video card though because of the weak Celeron CPU.

To install Win7 (or Vista), boot off the DVD, wipe out ALL existing partitions, create one new NTFS partition, then proceed with the installation. Do NOT upgrade from XP.

HI Riider

You got my message wrong there. I don't want to upgrade to 7. I just want the halo 2 xp patch files to play halo 2 on my win XP machine.

"I don't want to upgrade to 7"

OK, then why did you include this statement in your post?? >> "For some reason i cannot upgrade to 7".

If you want Win7, wipe the hard drive & install from scratch, do NOT upgrade. Regardless, it's doubtful your system would meet the minimum requirements for Halo 2 due to the graphics. It's time to upgrade your hardware & your OS.

Hi riider

My reasons are mine, not technical. I use some antique software which will not be supported by 7. In addition i have seen many pc's with much lower configuration running 7.
