Its an old PC game from the 90's. Its based in world war 2 and is a bird eye view strategy game, I only ever played the Demo version of it where you was given a choice of 2 scenarios, one was axis and one was allied and to choose the scenario you had to click on the picture of the general you wanted to be. I remember in the axis scenario you start out with lots of different tanks, squads of men and armoured personell carriers and your in a town/farm area. all of the buildings are destructable and your squads of men are able to place TNT and load into the APC's. You also have 3 airplane icons in the top right corner of the screen and each icon is a bombing run of 3 bombers at first, then 2, then 1, and you also lose how many times you can call for it. the whole objective is to destory the opposition, I loved the game but for the life of me I cannot remember what its called!!! does anyone know?????? im sure it was something like counter attack or counter strike.
Sounds like Command and Conquer: Red Alert! Google for it, you can download it free I think...
ahhh its not any of the command and conquer series! its based in WW2....I wish it was that simple! :(
Company of Heroes? Think that was based in WW2...
nope its not that either.... =/
It was on an old PC gaming magazine Demo Disc from the 90's, thats all I remember.
Not totally sure when the original came out, but it sounds a bit like Sudden Strike. I managed to find a site where you can download the second one for free, just as good. Though it crashed on me after level 7 or 8
well there was an actual PC game called Axis and Allies... look at the screen shots, maybe this is it?

ahhh it looks alot like sudden strike but its not that either, that game lacks the icons of 3 airplanes in the top right corner of the screen, and the campaign selector at the intro to the demo was 2 pictures, one axis general and 1 allied general and you clicked on the general whos demo campaign you wanted to play....
ow and cheers m8 but its not axis and allies either, I looked at the link but it looked nothing like i remember, Ow and to add one more thing I remember about it, when you had a squad of men selected and hovered your pointer over a building, the pointer turned into a stick of dynamite but you only had 3 sticks of dynamite per squad of men!
Maybe this one? http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy...
IKNOW IT.ALLIES VS AXIS
