Specs: Windows 10
I am looking to get an E-Reader and a New little bit Gaming Laptop.

I have settled on one of the kindles (the 100 dollar option) but in regards to the laptop I am not sure what to get.

I dont really have a budget yet but in the past Ive never spent more than 500 dollars. I am willing to go up to 700 to 800 dollars and that is all.

The one I am using now is a small Hp Pavilion 15 laptop. It got me through Undergrad but it lacks memory (8gbs heh) and I can no longer update it. It gets the job done for what I need it to do.

What I am looking for:

13-15 Inches

Good Battery Life (6-8 hours)

Decent Screen (1080P Screen)

Decent specs

This laptop will serve to different purposes depending on how my life turns out.

It will either serve with me in the Peace Corps writing reports. Or it will serve as my mule for work and grad school.

In a nutshell the most extensive work I will be conducting on it would be writing papers, browsing the web, emails, youtube videos, and as a streaming machine.

I dont plan to game much on it but: It would be nice to play PS1 titles through emulators or play some PC/Steam Games (FF9, Company of Heroes 2) but it is not a requirement.

It appears your HP will accept up to 16GB RAM. If you were to upgrade the RAM & replace the HDD with a SDD, plus a clean install of Windows (without the HP garbage-ware), you'd have a decent performing machine to hold you over until you have enough funds for a gaming laptop. Good gaming laptops (with an actual gaming graphics card & dedicated GDDR5 graphics memory) are fairly expensive.

ASUS Vivobook S15 and Acer Aspire E 15 is a good choice in my point of you Here is a list you can find some more choices https://guruverdict.com/best-gaming-laptops-under-800-dollars/ . But according to your requirements, you don't need some specific gaming laptop you just need a Laptop with good specs that can runs games also that's why I recommend ASUS Vivobook S15 and Acer Aspire E 15 . Otherwise there is a lot of options available in pure gaming laptops
