Specs: Windows XP
i bought a 16gb usb 2.0 flash drive for my sons pc which runs on windows xp.He plays online games and needed more memory to make the game run at normal speed.we plugged the flash drive in and tried to install it,but a message comes up stating the device is only compatible with windows 98se.It says on the flash drive packaging that it is compatible with xp.Any ideas?

How is a 16GB USB flash drive going to make his games run any better? You didn't list any system specs but you most likely need more system memory (RAM) & possibly a video card upgrade.

Install what? Flash drives are for storage. A new flash drive should be blank. All you should have to do is plug it in & wait for Windows to recognize it, then you can use it for storage.

We need more details. Make/model of the USB drive plus the system specs.
