"The power supply DOES matter. It should be decent quality brand name unit, at least 500W, support active PFC, have an 80 Plus efficiency rating, & a single +12v rail with high amperage (over 32A).
I already told you what to look for in a board. I'm not going to sort thru the dozens & dozens of possibilities & pick one for you. You need to decide for yourself - AM3 or AM3+? 2 or 4 memory slots? Integrated graphics or not? mATX or ATX form factor? Other than that, I recommended an AMD 800 or 900 series northbridge chipset with an 800 series southbridge. Many cheaper boards will have the SB710 southbridge. I guess that's acceptable as long as the board supports USB 3.0 & SATA 6 Gb/s . And you'll want a board that has all the necessary overclocking options."
