Have x2 GPUs and several CPU+MoBos/Best Match Ups Pls

Specs: Windows 10, 16GB
First off I have an RX 570 and an HD 6870. I am wondering which CPUs to match with these to get the least bottleneck and most fps. Secondly, do I stand to maximize the RX 570 by purchasing a cheap CPU that outshines these or would that require newer CPU+MoBo combo?

All CPUs I have are installed on decent MoBos.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (8GB DDR2)

AMD Phenom II x4 630 (16GB DDR3)
AMD Phenom II x4 640 (16GB DDR3)
AMD Phenom II x4 940 BE (16GB DDR3)
AMD FX 9370 (16GB DDR3)

The FX 9370 is the best of the CPUs listed & the RX 570 is the better of the GPUs listed. You didn't bother to list boards but for the FX CPU, you should have a board based on 900 series chipset combo such as 990FX/SB950, not a cheapie board based on the older 760G chipset.

Yes, the FX 9370 is on a 990FXA-UD5. Each CPU is paired with a decent board. So the FX 9370 will get the most use out of the RX 570. Is there a cost effective CPU to replace the 9370 or should I wait for a CPU+MoBo upgrade?

Out of the other CPUs, which would make best use out f the HD 6870?

There is no cost effective upgrade. There is only one FX CPU better than the 9370 & the performance difference is minor. Just overclock what you have.

Next best CPU on the list is the 940 BE. I believe the 630 & 640 are Athlon II's, not Phenoms. The only difference between the two is the clock speed so once again, the performance difference is minor.

The Core 2 Duo E8400 performance is comparable to the Athlons. From what I remember, you can overclock the snot out of them too. But being that you listed 8GB DDR2, that setup's in last place.

Yes you are right the 630 and 640 are Athlon 2s I mixed that up.

The E8400 is nicely OC'd but yes the board is DDR2 with 8GB installed and I don't see any point in upgrading something that old.

I will throw the HD 6870 in with the 940 BE, ty much for the advice. Also, if the person I am donating the 940BE+HD6870 wanted to upgrade their GPU would there be a decent upgrade or is that a good pairing for that Gen?
