Okay so my boyfriend bought a new pc ( he doesn't know very much about computers ) and he got a hp 6213w I believe it has 6 gigs ddr2 ram and a 2.6 gig processor intel e5300 and he was having issues so we went and got a graphics card because the onboard graphics are well like most onboard graphics....crap. We got a zotac nvidia gt 220 1gb graphics card. running windows 7 direct x 11 and he still lags and the graphics arn't very pretty kind of blocky still even turned up to max and still getting lag even on lowest settings. I've tried everything I know and searched the internet for hours to find an explanation for this, this comp more than meets and exceeds min system requirments, please help :( this is driving me crazy
thanks,

p.s.
I have updated all drivers
220gt isn't a gaming card. 220gt with gddr3 can play games with medium or high settings plus 1024x768 or lower. Try old games and see if it's perform well
The 220GT benchmarks right around the speed of a 9500GT, or 8600GTS. Your BF should have bought either a 8800GT/GTS/GTX, 9600GSO, 9600GT or 250GTS or higher. as stated above.
Also as this is an HP machine, you probably have about 20 HP apps sitting in the background eating up your CPU time. Such as HP Protect Tools.
PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI
It would help to know which games you're trying to play but as the others have said, the GT 220 isn't much of a gaming card. You would have been better off with a GT 240 w/GDDR5 memory...it's a MUCH faster card & probably cheaper too.
yh a GT220 is a remodeled 9500gt with higher clock speeds im just gunna say one thing if u'd consider ATI HD 5670 or nvidia gts 250
I actually got it to work really well just by messing with some settings no lag and perfect graphics thans anyways tho guys
he was trying to play warhammer ( which IMO graphics for that are not too advanced ) and he got what he paid for he wasn't willing to spend more than $600 on the whole thing I told him $1200 for something he wasn't going to have to replace in a year or two but whatever I'm a woman what do I know :p
how did you get it working!? my friend also has a a geforce gt 220, i7 860 and 4gb ram, running on windows 7 professional. we were trying to run new games like GTA IV and Just Cause 2, when we could have played with high and even max graphics, the games lag and we have to play on a low res and low graphics. How did you fix the problem!? i tried everything but nothing seems to work... there are no registry probs, he's using TuneUp Utilities 2010, everything is fine. PLEASE HELP!
