I'm setting up my first SLI system (two graphics cards) and just installed two GeForce 9800GT's on the new system. I have a 730W power supply, but am still afraid it won't be enough and I could fry my board/other hardware. I'm looking for advice to help calculate just how much wattage/ampage I really need to support two gaming cards like these. Thanks!
Post the PSU specs (+3.3v, +5v, +12v).
Why did u purchase old direct x 10 video cards?
You know the real meaning of piece only if you have been through the war.
If it's a decent 730w PSU made by Antec, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic, FSP, PC Power and Cooling or Silverstone, it will easily handle two 9800s. I had an 8800GTS SLI setup not too long ago, and my 620w Corsair easily ran that and a power-hungry 90nm overvolted Opteron. Socket 939 | Dual-core Opteron 185 @ 3.2GHz | 4GB | 1.0TB | Win7 x64
GeForce GTX 460 1GB | X-Fi Ti Pro | A8N32-SLI Deluxe | Antec P182
yea i have a single 9800gt and it runs perfectly on a 500Watts 12V 26Amps
psu no problems. i doubt u will face anything but to make sure post the specs of the power supplycomputers are a second home
